Extrahepatic Replication Sites of Hepatitis E Virus (HEV)

چکیده

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is an emerging viral disease known to cause acute hepatitis globally. Various genotypes of HEV have been identified that produce genotype specific lesions depending on the targeted population. Pregnant or immunosuppressed individuals develop significantly more severe in comparison general In last 40 years, we discovered tropism not restricted liver, and replication was demonstrated multiple organs. Out 10 body systems described humans, produces causing a broad range extrahepatic clinical manifestations each them. Affected include nervous musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, integumentary, renal, respiratory, immune, reproductive producing systemic lesions. All signs are caused by either direct these tissues, indirectly various immune mediated mechanisms. Extrahepatic features allowed it cross placental barrier, blood–brain barrier (BBB), blood–testis (BTB) do typically grant entry viruses general. Thus, this review, summarized sites HEV, listed where invaded, animal models including immunocompetent were used study HEV.

Evidence of extrahepatic sites of replication of the hepatitis E virus in a swine model.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is the major cause of enterically transmitted non-A, non-B hepatitis in many developing countries and is also endemic in many industrialized countries. Due to the lack of an effective cell culture system and a practical animal model, the mechanisms of HEV pathogenesis and replication are poorly understood. Our recent identification of swine HEV from pigs affords us an op...

Subcellular localization of hepatitis E virus (HEV) replicase.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a hepatotropic virus with a single sense-strand RNA genome of approximately 7.2 kb in length. Details of the intracellular site of HEV replication can pave further understanding of HEV biology. In-frame fusion construct of functionally active replicase-enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) gene was made in eukaryotic expression vector. The functionality of replica...

Management of Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) Zoonotic Transmission: Protection of Rabbits against HEV Challenge following Immunization with HEV 239 Vaccine

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) constitutes a significant health burden worldwide, with an estimated approximately 33% of the world's population exposed to the pathogen. The recent licensed HEV 239 vaccine in China showed excellent protective efficacy against HEV of genotypes 1 and 4 in the general population and pregnant women. Because hepatitis E is a zoonosis, it is also necessary to ascertain wheth...

Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) ORF2 Antigen Levels Differentiate Between Acute and Chronic HEV Infection.

BACKGROUND Hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotype 3 infections are frequent in Europe and North America, with acute and chronic courses described in the literature. HEV RNA detection by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is the gold standard for diagnosis. Recently, an anti-HEV antigen (Ag)-specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) directed against the HEV capsid became commercially a...

Replication of hepatitis E virus in the ovary and promotion of oocyte apoptosis in rabbits infected with HEV-4

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection can induce infertility and miscarriage in pregnant women and infect neonates through vertical transmission. However, the mechanism of infertility and vertical transmission remains unclear. In the present study, we evaluated the replication of HEV in the ovary and structural and molecular changes induced by HEV after intraperitoneal injection of HEV in rabbits. ...
